Film industry homework

In the production of the film the first part of the film would be to think up the idea of the film, a producer will choose what the film will be based on and the underlined message of the film, along with writers a producer will write up a sum up of the film. they then would need to prepare a treatment this often has little directions for what people would actually do on screen, but instead has some visual representations to help show the plot.

in pre-production a production company and office are established, a film may be set up in a storyboard to help visualise what the film would be like, and a budget is drawn up to give the producer and directors a guideline on how much they can spend on the film. a producer will hire a crew dependant on how much money they have in the budget decides how good the crew an be.

in production the film is created and shot, in this stage more crew may also be hired roles made dependant on what needs to be filled in the crew. in this role lots of shots are taken to ensure they have different angles which they can use in the film. after this the shots they have taken will be edited so they blend together well, and if changes to sound need to be made it will also be done here this is known as post production.

in distribution the film is released to the audience, at first there may be advertising such as trailers or poster to first bring in the audience, the size and budget of the film may decide how much advertising there is as a bigger movie may have more. after this copies are made of the film dependant on how many different ways they will distribute it, for example a film going straight to online or cinema will need less copies than one going to DVD. films can go onto many different types of platforms the main ones are cinema, dvd and online. these platforms also contribute to the exhibition of the film as this is where the audience will be able to view the film. some larger movies may also have box office opening where actors in the films, the crew and some fans can come and watch and promote the film. today people seem to interact with movies online as this is easier for most and normally cheaper.
